RHS Bridgewater Glow 2023

Each year, I seem to have been slowly collecting “Christmas traditions” as I try to make more of my life, normally I try to stick to these traditions only starting after the 1st December when Christmas is not logically too far away, however this year, the first tradition of the Festive period happened at the end of November, due to a slight confusion with the booking calendar on the RHS site.

So, on what turned out to be the first really cold night of the winter period, myself and a couple of friends set out for a photo-wander around RHS Bridgewater Glow.

The event almost came to an early sticky end, as whilst pulling off one of my gloves, my camera wrist strap got caught on the glove and wrenched the camera out of my had and sent it plummeting earthwards! Lucky for me, I managed to somewhat cushion the blow by moving my foot into place so the camera landed on the soft part of my boot and then rolled of onto the floor, so the death of the camera was just about avoided.

The rest of the night went off without a hitch and this year, due to some disease in part of the complex, the route this year was different to last years and was a great wander around.

The only real downside is that for some reason, the cafĂ© does not stay open too late and by the time we had finished the wander around, it was all shut-up, so there was no time for a quick cuppa to warm ourselves up – lucky a back-up flask had been packed in the car!
