For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by older buildings, I find them so much more interesting and better designed compared to the newer buildings you see cropping up around towns and cities and often wondered what was left behind when people moved out of them.
Ten or so years ago, I discovered that I was not alone in this area and there was in fact a name for such interest – Urban Exploration – where people go into these old buildings and document the things people leave behind.
After discovering this community, I bought my first camera and got actively involved and for a good number of years, most weekends were spent inside these long forgotten places.
The portfolio below contains some of my favourite images from the places I have seen (cutting down 1000+ images into a more manageable gallery was quite a feat!)
