After spending the Christmas period away from home I had plans for the new year to meet up with a friend who had not had the best of times over the festive period and needed a change of scene and a general catch up.
We were not entirely sure where to go as the weather at this time of year can not be counted on, so we decided to chance the sea side and headed over to New Brighton, in the hope of catching some nice waves.
We were not left disappointed, as it was blowing a gale and the seaside was very choppy, unfortunately, although we arrived early in the day, we were still an hour or so past high tide, so missed the full peak of the waves crashing over the sea walls, but there was still enough going on to get some good action shots.
Following a hearty and filling full English, where we were able to warm up a little, we braced the winds again and had a general wander around the sea front and just enjoyed being out in the fresh air, blowing away the festive period and trying to get back to normal life again.
After exhausting the the sea front at New Brighton, we headed down the coast a little way for some alternative views across the water which was a nice end to a succesful day of catching up with friends.
