This has to be one of the oddest places I have ever visited, probably THE oddest place if I think about it (yes…odder than Chernobyl!), but odd in a good way as it was something totally different to what I would normally venture out to photograph.
If we lived in America, I guess this place would be classed as a “roadside attraction”, however we are not, so what it is classed as is up for interpretation.
The reason behind why this place exists though is a tale of someone doing good for the environment. Normally, when a mannequin reaches the end of it’s life (or the end of it’s life as a retail unit sees it), they would be crushed and put into landfill, however, as they are made of fiberglass, they will never breakdown.
So, what this place does is takes in old “retired” manakins, gives them a makeover and then hires them out again, so hopefully overtime, the number going into landfill will greatly reduce.
