Lakes of the Lake District

As a continuation of the great 2021 staycation and the need to use up my last remaining holiday days at work, I decided to have a few days away up at the Lake District, primarily because it had been a couple of years since I had been to on of my favourite towns, Cockermouth and there was a good deal on a couple of nights stay at the hotel there (thetrouthotel).

It was the time of year when you never quite know what sort of weather to expect, especially with it being the Lake District, however I got luck on this occasion and although it was quite cold, there was little to no rain, but plenty of cloud to make for some dramatic cloud formations when wandering around the lakes.

Traditionally, Landscape based photograph is not something I have done too much in the past, however this seemed a great location to get some practice in and overall, I am quite pleased with some of these images, particularly the ones in black and white.

I know they are still far from perfect but they have given me the urge to get out to similar locations in the future to practice this form of photography more.
