The quest to see 30 National trust properties to complete the “Pink Passport” continued with what was stamp number 18 – Dunham Massey.
This is actually a revisit to a place I have been to a few times before, but pre-Pink-Passport, plus the last time I visited here I saw no deer (at a place famed for being a deer park), so I had hopes for a more successful visit.
The weekend was supposed to be a washout and when I set off from home that was certainly the case, but as they say “there is no bad weather, just bad preparation”. However, as luck would have it, shortly after I arrived the rain stopped and it was mostly a dry wander around the grounds.
This time I was lucky enough to see a small gathering of deer on my way back from the woods (just when I was starting to think it was going to be another deer-free visit) and also I arrived when the rose garden was in full bloom and the smell was fantastic.
All in all, it turned out to be a nice afternoon and another one ticked off the list!
