Christmas Lights in Howarth Village

Whilst doing the weekly tidying up at home, I came across a leaflet I had picked up earlier in the year detailing the events happening over in Howarth Village over the Christmas period and it just happened to be that very evening would be the Lantern Parade and Christmas Carol concert in the local church, so a decision was made to head on over there to add another new event to my festivities.

The parade had been cancelled the day before due to the named storm which headed over the UK, so the event was rather busy and it was elbow-to-elbow at the gathering point.

Shortly before the start, the heavens opened so I decided the best option would be to head on back up to the church to “book” my seat for the carol concert (was a good decision too because after the parade that event also became standing room only!)

The carol concert was really good and a nice mix of festive readings and some known (and unknown (to me)) carols which helped to get me even ore in the mood for the season.

After the concert, the weather had improved so I had a wander around a much quieter village looking at the nicely dressed shops and houses surrounding main street.
