Another Place, Crosby

This is one of those places that has been on my ‘to-visit’ list for a number of years, however time always gets in the way and it has never happened.

Fast forward to Mid-March and after almost visiting a couple of weeks prior, a mate contacted me to say they were heading over there to photograph the sculptures at sunrise, which was quite funny as we had not spoken about this previously, but both had the same provisional idea for the same weekend.

I almost did not make it, as I had scheduled to see The Batman at the late night screening the night before, which meant bed shortly before midnight with a getting up time of a short 4 or so hours later.

In the end, I decided that I could sleep later in the day and as it was due to be a fine morning, the chances of some nice early morning photos was too tempting.

So, with coffee in hand and it still rather dark and cold, I headed over to the Wirral to start the day.

The colours on show that morning were fantastic, going from the black of night, to light pink and then orange as the sun headed higher into the sky and this made for a really nice and peaceful morning.

Now, I don’t want it to sound like I did not enjoy the experience, as I did and was glad I went, however, I soon found that there were only so many photos you can take of the same statue repeated a hundred times over, so in the end I took the photos that appealed to me and then just stood and enjoyed the experience.

The plan at some point is to go back and try to document as many of the statues as possible along the couple mile route (probably for my own benefit, rather than posting a photo of each of them), although at the moment I am not sure of the logistics of this as I suspect some of the statues can not be reached easily or safely due to their positioning.
