Kelvingrove Art Gallery - Glasgow

The second day of my Birthday trip to Scotland found me in Glasgow, this time I had a set plan in mind.

My first stop was to see the Glasgow Necropolis, which turned out to be quite a walk from the train station and sadly it rained for the entire duration.

So, whilst feeling a tad miserable and soggy, I made my way over to the other item on the agenda – Kelvingrove Museum and Art gallery, which had been highly recommended to me.

Initially, I was a little bit disappointed by the ground floor as that was the museum part of the building and the pieces on display did not really grab me.

However, heading upstairs, the place came alive for me as I was surrounded by wonderful pieces of art from some of the worlds most well-known artists from Van Gogh to Picasso to Dali.

What I initially thought was going to be a brief visit turned out to be a good three plus hours of immersing myself in a delight to the eyes.
